Removing barriers from home design

There’s more than one way to get through life

Approximately 1 in 4 Americans live with disabilities, with the South having the highest percentage. Every year, 5% of Americans will live with a temporary disability for 6 months or less.

We all live and move around on a spectrum of ability, whether or not we experience serious injury or disease, beginning in infancy and ending in old age. Unfortunately, conventional design can sometimes turn an impairment into a disability. The answer to this problem is universal design. This design philosophy aims to accommodate as wide a spectrum of abilities as possible without making your home look like a hospital.

Greyhaven incorporates universal design in each project because we believe there is no answer to the question, “What area or feature of your home do you want to be impossible to use if you get injured?”
